My Story
I Am Mom To My Mother

My mom now calls me mama. She calls my name sometimes, but I believe when she forgets my name, this is a clever way of her disguising when she forgets it. We were always and are still very close. This is why I could not have turned my back on my mother when I noticed she began forgetting things. She began to rely heavily on me. She would call me if she couldn't find a shoe or if she misplaced anything. Her trust in me went from the simple to very important decisions she would ask me to help her. This aggrevated lots of my family members. So much that they began to hate me. It created a rift in the family. They turned on me and turned their backs on my mom. How can people be so heartless? There was only one person in the family that stood by me and mom. Sadly, she passed away recently. I can't cry because I have to be strong for myself and my mom and there are no more tears left. Somehow through this, I met my soulmate and got married. My husband loves my mom and understood the bond we shared. My mom lives with us. It is heartwrenching that I do not have the support of my siblings. However, I will try and do the best for my mom to make her happy and to have the quality of life that she is used to.
