Early onset

My Mum has had memory issues for a number of years now but has always been able to funtion well and can appear quite normal in social circumstances.

She is a bright, kind, youthful 54 years old.

I am 31, my siblings are 22 and 24. We are a very close family and have found out very recently that Mum has Alzheimers.

My Dad is coping with the news by burying his head in work and concentrating on Mum's medication, the rest of us are really keen for Mum to see a Psychologist also to assist with her anxiety.

This is all so new to me and I am terrified. I don't know much about the disease itself and am so afraid of losing my Mum. But more so for my brother and sister as they are so young to watch their Mum slip away.
