Do persons with dementia normally have difficulty sleeping?
Answer from DementiaNet
Poor sleep is a feature of many conditions. People with dementia may have disturbed sleep yes, however, this may also be a sign of other problems such as a co-morbid mood disorder (e.g.depression). Its important to check and see whether the medications they are taking may be contributing to sleep disturbances too.
If the sleep disturbance is ongoing then this should be addressed by their doctor.
