Subject: trouble with insomnia

My dear grandma has been trouble with insomnia almost two years.She is more than eighty years old this year.
Is this a clinical manifestation of dementia?

Thanks for your question. Insomnia is very common as one ages, it has many causes. Has she been diagnosed with dementia? It would be impossible to make a diagnosis with an isolated and such a general symptom. Perhaps if you could give us more detail we may be able to answer more fully.
