A page in the diary "Sue's thoughts on life"

I come on here night after night and wait in chat in case someone with a need drops by. I know how lost and lonely I was, first when Ray had the strokes and then when he was diagonosed with dementia. I was not lonely in the daytime and I could manage the evenings but sometimes as the night got towards midnight I would feel lost and sad and I would come to a place like this to see if anyone else was lost or sad and wanted to have a chat.

The years going by have not changed that. It is as if as "help", in the form of friends and familiy support gets less and less my needs can more easily be met by someone who knows what it is to be a carer, to be the support person for someone who can no longer make decisions, or face facts, or even know often what is really happening around them. That is Ray now.

So you come on here now and read this. Then do you flick over to another site or do you respond to this diary entry? Do you register and share your story or do you just read and move on?

I guess it depemnds on how you respond to life in general. Do you just experience life or do you learn from what you experience? Do you learn from the experience and then help others by sharing that expereince and what you learnt from it? Everything happens for a reason, the timing is importannt and so is our response to what has happened.

Your respond to reading this entry might make a difference to someone else's life or a difference to your own.

Have a happy festive season everyone.
