A page in the diary "Sue's thoughts on life"

I had a visit from a social worker who manages one of the programs Ray is on. She told me how lonely and isolated some of her carers who look after a family member are, particularly those who are still angry etc that their lives have been turned upside down.

I suggested she encourages them to come to this site. She said most are not computer literate. I know that applies to older folk taking care of an elderly spouse but questioned that the younger ones like me might already be on the internet etc so this would be a good site to come to. She eventually did take down the details and said she will pass them on..maybe. Isn't it strange people seem reluctant to spread the news?

This is a good site. Of course we are all busy so chat mostly takes place after 10.30pm which must seem strange to some folks. Right now I am only on here because I am waiting on a casserole to finish cooking. Then I will wake up Ray and will not be on again until after I shower him about 9.30pm or so and have him back in bed. Before that? Forget it.

So if you are reading this and do get some help with caring tell your care provider about this site so more get the opportunity to come on and chat. The more people we come into contact with the more infoprmation we get about what is available to us, the more emotional support etc. So please, spread the word.
