From Society to Individual

Until approximately 10 years ago, few people were familiar with the term "dementia". Since then, there has been information about dementia in the media, at conferences, and a number of books have been written on the topic. Both personal histories and professional literature is now available. During this period there has been a focus on developing collaboration and special services in communities directed towards this patient group within elderly care.

These developments have resulted in families generally becoming more familiar with terms such as "dementia", "Alzheimer's Disease" and related terms.
