Over protective feelings

A spouse may feel very over protective of their partner who is living with dementia. It may be hard to turn their care and attention over to others. 

It may feel like abandonment when the person with dementia willingly accepts help from strangers. There may be situations where they seem to prefer the carers company to their spouse's.

• Remember that your feelings are a sign of the love and affection you have for your loved one.
• Find a person you trust and tell them about your feelings 
• Maybe you can also share your thoughts with the other carers
