Power of Attorney
(14-12-2009)
If you would like to get help handling finances from a certain person you may need to appoint a power of attorney
Enduring Power of Attorney:
This is a legal document through which you can appoint a person to make decisions about your property or finances. It cannot be used to make medical or lifestyle decisions. For this you will need to appoint an ‘enduring guardian’.
Unlike a general power of attorney, an enduring power of attorney will continue to have effect even if you lose mental capacity and are unable to make decisions yourself.
For more information regarding legal matters see:

Alternatively contact your local Community Legal Centre, a private solicitor or the office of The Public Trustee.
