It is important to be aware of how your social life affects you. A busy social life that once meant a great deal to you may make you uncomfortable now.
A network of people in the same situation can be a big help when you have a dementia disease. If you cannot find one in your community, perhaps you can be part of starting such a group. It may be necessary to have a health professional participate in creating such get-togethers.
Getting together with old friends can help strengthen your identity, but that requires openness and understanding of your illness.
