Treatment

Every person who has dementia can be treated, although very few can be cured. The treatment is multifactorial and may consist of psychosocial aspects and pharmacological treatment. The medication is used to treat:

• The symptoms that may accompany dementia, such as depression and
• Alzheimer's disease.

The treatment of dementia depends on the individual. It depends upon the type and cause of dementia The treatment depends upon how the disease manifests itself, how badly affected they are, and what other diseases that person may have.

In some instances where rare causes are involved, the dementia disease can be cured. That applies to some types of benign tumors, for example.
