Well.......just when mum & dad had settled nicely into what they call their new home...it is closing. The owners have two homes which are both under sanctions.GREAT MANAGEMENT!!!!!!!!!!
I attended a meeting last Wed for family and residents which addressed accreditation. All was well, as the owner reported..then he dropped the bombshell. He gave us one months notice!

Such high regard for the most vulnerable in our community. The worst thing is that the staff are fantastic...a real family atmosphere.

I took mum to see another facility. It was fully accredited, and I couldn't believe it. It was more run down and under staffed than their current place. The director was rude, hardly aknowledged my mum. The room was tiny and falling to pieces. This made me even more angry. I went with an objective outlook. However, the feeling was not good. I am my parents legal guardians and stuff that! They will go where they can call another "home". So......I am not budging.....my parents deserve better!!!!!!

Kandi - there is a lady in Adelaide, Mrs Bronwyn Arnold that you could talk to. Bronwyn has a service which helps families find appropriate residential care. You can find out more information at her website: www.agedcareplanning.com.au - hope this helps.
