Nursing home under scrutiny

Mum & dads nursing home has been under the public eye lately. It failed to meet some criteria and since, information regarding inappropriate conduct by a staff member towards a dementia patient hit the media. What made it worse is that the victim is a close family friend who also lives at the home.
I have had sleepless nights wondering if mum & dad are really ok. They seem happy and dont report anything to me.
My perception is that the administration have allowed standards to drop by not doing their job efficiently. All the other staff are great. Very caring and professional. I don't think the staff are valued enough. Their facilities are not adequate.Their staff room fits two people at the most.
The question now is do I sit patiently and observe if changes are made...or start looking for another facility. This may be hard, as mum & dad are together....waiting lists are long. Mum & dad are happy where they are and the move may unsettle them.
It sickens me that the most vulnerable members of our community have inadequate care!
