I do a lot of complaining about the family and what they do and don't do. Today we had a really nice day with our older son and his family. It was raining but they have a big roofed back deck so we could still have a BBQ. Had to eat it inside though as it did get cold about lunch time.
Ray was in a happy mood and seemed to enjoy being around the grandkids. I took a couple of little cars for Alex, the older of the two grandsons and he and Trev played with them. Steve took a lot of photos and put them on a disc for me so I was able to sent a couple of nice ones out to friends. In order to get the three grandkids to smile everyone clowned around so I have some lovely ones of Ray with a big smile on his face,quite different to his usual solemn look.
We've had quite a sociable week and that makes a huge difference to me. I get sad and lonely with life changing as Ray's dementia makes it harder for us to maintain a social life. I know it will be that way but it is so nice when people ring or call in or just send us an email and I feel as if we are not forgotten.
This week has been a really good week.I hope we have many more of them.
